Beverage manufacturers are increasingly offering scaled down drink formats, spanning concentrated wellness shots to pocket sized ready to drink cocktails. Food Navigator reported that companies are reducing volume sizes to appeal to consumer demands for convenience, premium experiences, and functional health benefits. [1]

In the wellness category, single serve functional shots between 30 and 100ml are generating significant revenue. According to figures from Dataintelo cited by Food Navigator, the global market for ready to drink functional shots was valued at 2.26 billion dollars in 2025. The market research firm projects this segment will grow to 4.12 billion dollars by 2034. [1]

Unlike food product downsizing driven by GLP 1 weight loss medications, the minification of beverages is motivated by different category factors. Food Navigator reported that alcohol brands are adopting smaller serve sizes to offer taste and convenience, while functional drink brands rely on concentrated formats that fit daily consumer routines.
