Louis Roederer has launched the 2018 release of its Cristal Champagne, Decanter reported on October 5, 2026. The launch coincides with the 250th anniversary of the Champagne house and marks 150 years since the creation of Cristal. [1]

The house was founded as Dubois Pere et Fils in 1776 before being inherited and renamed by Louis Roederer in 1833. It created Cristal in 1876 specifically for Tsar Alexander II of Russia, packaging the prestige cuvee in a clear crystal bottle for security. [2][4]

Based in Reims, France, Louis Roederer remains an independent and family-run business managed across seven generations. Under current leadership by Frederic Rouzaud, the company ships more than 3.5 million bottles annually to over 100 countries. [2][4]
