Wendy's launches bundled value meal and updates packaging

Wendy's has introduced a limited-time value promotion featuring its Dave's Single combo meal for $7.99, Nation's Restaurant News reported. The bundled offer includes a Dave's Single hamburger, small fries, and a small soft drink as part of a strategy to bring customers back to the brand. [1]

Along with the promotional meal, the chain unveiled new yellow packaging, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The design brings back a color scheme that the company had previously abandoned during a rebranding in 2012. [1]

Dave Thomas founded Wendy's in Columbus, Ohio, in November 1969, and the chain relocated its headquarters to Dublin, Ohio, in 2006. The business merged with Arby's parent company Triarc in September 2008 and grew to become the third-largest hamburger fast-food chain globally by late 2018. [4]

In addition to the value strategy, franchisee operations are experiencing closures across local markets, Nation's Restaurant News reported. Meritage Hospitality Group, a Wendy's franchisee based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, closed 13 restaurants late last week, which may lead to more total closures than original expectations suggested. [1]
