Ahold Delhaize has restored its Dutch online operations and resumed grocery delivery for Albert Heijn, Just Food and the NL Times reported. The service reactivation on October 23, 2026, comes nearly two weeks after a cyber breach disrupted the company's logistics and commercial platforms. NL Times noted that grocery deliveries restarted almost two weeks after the digital disruption began. [1][3]
The online ordering suspension was caused by a major security breach. As FTMQ Food reported earlier, Ahold Delhaize originally suspended online grocery ordering and taken its websites offline after detecting a cybersecurity incident on October 12, 2026. While European digital platforms including Albert Heijn and bol.com suffered outages during the event, physical store locations remained open throughout the incident. [6][7]
The outage affected the international operations of the retail group over the same period. FTMQ Food previously reported that Ahold Delhaize brought its United States websites and mobile applications back online following an outage lasting over a week, although US shoppers continued to experience technical glitches with logins and password resets. [6]
According to RetailDetail EU, the delivery service for Albert Heijn will not return to full operational capacity until next week. The company's parent firm originally expanded from an early base to open the first self-service supermarket in the Netherlands in 1952, later rebranding as Ahold in 1973. [4][5]
