Nestlé announced on October 12 that it plans to invest an additional one billion US dollars into its business in Mexico. According to Just Food, the investment will run from 2028 to the end of 2030. Company chief executive officer Philipp Navratil participated in a meeting where the expansion plan was confirmed. [1]

The new capital commitment extends an ongoing investment programme in the country. Just Food reported that the Swiss group is currently part-way through spending an initial one billion dollars in Mexico, an allocation set to run through the end of 2027. [1]

The corporate roots of Nestlé trace back to 1866, when trained pharmacist Henri Nestlé founded the business in Vevey, Switzerland. The company originally manufactured Farine Lactée, a powdered infant food designed to address child mortality, before expanding into condensed milk and broader dairy processing. [2]

Nestlé has not provided a breakdown of specific facility builds or product lines targeted in the upcoming 2028 to 2030 funding phase. [1]
