The Food and Drug Administration matched a recent broccoli sprout contamination outbreak to seed lot W4105, Marler Blog reported. The implicated seeds were sold on several online e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, and TikTok Shop. Federal authorities have not publicly disclosed the specific seller names associated with these transactions. [1]

The development follows earlier food safety actions involving online sprout seed distribution. As FTMQ Food reported earlier, EAK Distribution issued a nationwide recall for eight-ounce packages of Home Grown Green Sprouting Calabrese Broccoli Seeds sold on Amazon.com due to potential Salmonella contamination risks. [1][4]

Marler Blog also reported that chicken wraps responsible for sickening 38 people now have an identified food source. As FTMQ Food reported earlier, federal agencies previously faced scrutiny for withholding the brand name of the ready-to-eat chicken wraps linked to the E. coli O157:H7 outbreak. Those products were removed from store shelves prior to a formal public recall. [1][3]

In related produce industry developments, Food Safety Magazine reported that a Cyclospora lettuce outbreak has concluded. Following the end of the outbreak, produce supplier Taylor Farms made public statements while federal regulators faced continued questioning regarding their oversight. [2]
