Landry's Inc. has submitted a $22 million bid to acquire the majority of Fireman Hospitality Group's assets through a bankruptcy auction, Nation's Restaurant News and Yahoo Finance both reported. Jeff Crivello of Ciao Hospitality joined the Houston-based restaurant conglomerate as a co-bidder for the properties. [1][2]
The acquisition attempt covers prominent New York City locations, Nation's Restaurant News reported. Included in the auction bid are flagship concepts such as Café Fiorello, located across from Lincoln Center, as well as Trattoria Dell'Arte and Bond 45. Fireman Hospitality Group had previously developed a major presence in the theater district and near Carnegie Hall. [1]
Fireman Hospitality Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August, according to Nation's Restaurant News. The legal filing occurred roughly one year after founder Sheldon Fireman passed away at 93 years old. [1]
The targeted concepts occupy prime real estate across Manhattan. Red Eye Grill, another concept within the Fireman Hospitality portfolio, operates at street level inside 888 Seventh Avenue, a 46-floor office tower in Midtown Manhattan. [1][3]
