Danish specialty coffee and bakery group La Cabra has launched a boutique bakery-café in Madrid, World Coffee Portal and Demócrata both report. The opening marks the company's debut in Spain. [1][2]

World Coffee Portal reports that Spain is the fifth market globally for La Cabra, as well as its second market in Europe. The Madrid store represents the brand's first European location outside its home market of Denmark. [1]

Before expanding into Spain, La Cabra opened locations internationally in New York, Bangkok, and Muscat, according to World Coffee Portal. [1]

The entry comes as domestic boutique operators also seek growth in the Spanish coffee market. As FTMQ Food reported earlier, Madrid-based East Crema Coffee raised capital to accelerate its expansion across Spain, where it operates 21 outlets served by a central roastery in Madrid. [6]
